5200–2000 B.C. THE FIRST FARMERS IN BELGIUM (2011)
It was toward the end of the 6th millennium B.C. that the first farmers, coming fromCentral Europe, settled in our regions and introduced a new way of life: the Neolithic. These newcomers built houses grouped together in villages. Farming and livestock raising replaced hunting, fishing, and gathering, which now played only a supplementary role. At the same time, humans invented new techniques and tools that would prove revolutionary for humanity.
