It was in Treignes, in 1984, that Claire Bellier and Pierre Cattelain took a bold gamble by founding their own museum— the Musée du Malgré-Tout —as well as their Center for Archaeological Studies and Documentation (Cedarc). Thanks to their hard work and determination, the museum and the research conducted there are now recognized both nationally and internationally. But this couple of archaeologists, driven by their boundless curiosity, has also distinguished itself through their personal research on topics as rich as they are varied.

They have made a significant contribution to research both in Belgium and abroad. To mark their well-deserved retirement, their friends and colleagues have contributed to this compilation.
