This postcard depicts a hunting scene from the Upper Paleolithic, during the Magdalenian period, in which hunters bring down reindeer using spears thrown with spear-throwing devices. These weapons increased the range and power of the throw, while the reindeer provided an essential source of meat, antlers, and hides.
