ASBL Cedarc: a driving force for heritage research and preservation
Founded in 1985, Cedarc ASBL (Centre d’Études et de Documentation Archéologiques) is the scientific soul of the Musée du Malgré-Tout. A key player in the study in the study, conservation and promotion of prehistoric and Gallo-Roman prehistoric and Gallo-Roman heritage, Cedarc also distinguishes itself through its publishing house, which publishes recognized research works and exhibition catalogs.
Cedarc also manages one of the country’s archaeological libraries in the countryspecializing in national archaeology, and accessible to all. A real treasure trove for enthusiasts and researchers alike.
As part of its development, Cedarc ASBL recently acquired an emblematic building, the former hotel-restaurant “L’Authentik”, located just 93 meters from the museum.
Promoting and preserving regional heritage
This objective is achieved by conserving and showcasing the many archaeological artefacts found in the region, offering visitors a precious testimony to the past.
In addition, the publication of a wealth of research work, exhibition catalogs and books helps to share and promote regional heritage to a wide audience, making current and future generations aware of the importance of archaeology.
